Mike Angles is the owner and operator of LynTec Services, a San Jose, California area real estate appraiser company that also provides small business office PC and infrastructure support services.

Mike has been associated with computers since he built his first paper tape reader for a science fair project in sixth grade. With over 30 years of information technology experience in planning, implementing, managing, and supporting IT infrastructure, Mike is well versed in computer-based solutions, telecommunications, staff management, server centers and web infrastructure.

While employed with Hewlett-Packard, Mike managed Information Technology and commercial facilities departments. Notable HP IT projects included South Bay Area wireless, Premise Distribution Wiring Systems, Y2K transition project management, HP/Agilent split project management, the first HP internal International Helpdesk, HP’s first external customer timeshare server center, International server center consolidation projects, Bldg-27 IT/Facilities consolidation, International video conferencing, etc. International assignments included IT support to Asia Pacific, Latin America, Australia/New Zealand and Canadian regions. Facilities assignments included management of HP’s Palo Alto Bldg 27 and HP/SMC Central Express locations. Responsibilities included lease management, space management, renovation, tenant support services such as EH&S, mail center, travel desk, shipping and receiving. Downsizing expertise includes HP Bay Area server center and facilities consolidations, staff relocations/etc.

Following HP, Mike turned his attention to real estate appraisal, where his extensive experience in technology, finance and commercial facilities management proved to be a complementary background. He was fortunate to have mentors John R. Smith (yes, there really is a John Smith) and George H. Miller, West Valley College Professor Emeritus and author of various real estate appraisal textbooks such as “California Real Estate Appraisal”. Mike continues his association with George Miller, a South Bay area real estate appraisal icon.

As a California State Certified General appraiser (AG030882), Mike performs residential and commercial appraisal projects ranging from simple financial transactions to complex valuation opinions for legal matters. Additionally, he is developing a 50 acre parcel in his Pollock Pines hometown area, where he is the web master for the local Fire Safe web site.

Mike is a part-time appraisal instructor at West Valley College where he teaches basic and advance appraisal topics. As a guest lecturer, he also teaches computer-based appraisal tools to co-workers and students at local colleges. He published “Real Estate Appraisal Technology” a primer booklet for appraisers in 2006.

Mike has taught subjects including server center operations, disaster preparedness and recovery, Email, Microsoft Excel and MS Word, Hewlett-Packard’s MPE operating systems/JCL, HP Total Quality Control, and De Anza College’s Microsoft Operating Systems and Telecommunications courses.

Mike is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCP 1844408) and consults in office computing solutions including telecommunications, wireless computing, equipment and software selection.

Mike’s formal education includes a Community College of the Air Force AS Instrumentation Technology degree, Business BA, MBA with a Telecommunications major, EE classes at Chapman College and Financial Analysis, Planning and Control course work at University of Michigan’s Executive School.

As a Business Systems Analyst in the Avantek Inc., Semiconductor Division, Mike installed the company's first on-line computerized work-in-process tracking systems, which lead to increased production yields, repeatable processes and computerized management reporting. Mike also coordinated cross-divisional uses of Just-In-Time (JIT) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.

Mike’s seven years of military experience includes USAF Western Test Range Minuteman ICBM instrumentation duties directing and coordinating systems analysis efforts of diverse military and civilian contractor agencies. Mike worked on the Minuteman-Two and Three systems. He holds Air Force Good Conduct and Vietnam era awards, plus presidential unit citations.

Mike possesses a broad financial background in additional to formal college, appraisal education and 20 years of HP budgetary responsibility. He was a member of the Addison Avenue Credit Union Supervisory Board of Directors (formerly named the HP Federal Employee Credit Union), and he was the Chief Financial Officer of the Park Villas Home Owners Association. Responsibilities included daily financial operations, government compliance and reserve analysis.
